Can anyone help?
Did anyone find a pair of black running gloves that I think I must have
dropped in the village hall? I f so how might I retrieve them - happy to pay
for postage they were fairly new.

Please contact webmaster@newyearseve10k.co.uk  if you can help with the above.

Comments for 2006 Race

Just a note to thank you and all your helpers for a great race today. Although I was slower than planned, I had a great time (wind around 7k notwithstanding) and really enjoyed myself - all due to your great organisation and the fantastic atmosphere.
Thanks again,

I thoroughly enjoyed today's race.  It was a friendly and very well organised event and, despite the somewhat blowy weather, I got a PB by some margin.
Please can you pass on my thanks to everyone who helped, I know these things are never easy to organise.

Many thanks for such a well organised event once again.  The weather was kind to us as well.  This is an excellent race and long may it continue, I really look forward to it after Christmas excesses !   Peter and I realise what you put into these events to make them so successful.

Firstly, we would like to compliment you and all the helpers for your slick
organization, and thank you for an enjoyable event. Also, we are impressed
at how fast you have the results and pictures up. If any
of your members find themselves in China/S E Asia, and want to run, you are
welcome to pass on my e-mail address.

Runners World Comments :-

Cool and breezy, great for December, PB achieved :-)
Great way to end the year, friendly marshals...not sure about the piper !!

A fantastic way to end the year
Can't think of a better way to end a runners year than tearing round the fens with 500 or so like minded people. A great race, nice and friendly people and encouraging marshals, especially at the hill! The piper was a lovely touch for the time of year.

The wind made it hard going in places and the muddy finish wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was going to be. Nice bottle of beer as a memento to soothe away your pains and help bring in the New Year.

Thank you to all involved for putting on such a great event. No wonder it sells out so early.

Good local small race, very well organised. Flat but very windy!!!!

Superb organisation, a bit windy but was expected. Piper at the start and on the hill a nice touch. Quality beer at the finish :0)

A good race to finish the year on
Second time of running this event, and I wasn't disappointed. A well-organised and marshalled event, and a friendly atmosphere to boot. Yes, it was a bit muddy at the end, but we are in December... Great support on the run-in, and the lone Scottish piper at the top of the one incline was different! Decent bottle of real ale to finish. I will certainly try and be back for 2007.

Well organised race
Good well organised well marshalled race. Shame about the muddy finish, at least better then last year. In 2004 we finished along the high street by the race HQ allowing for a good finish. I'm assuming local authorities have a put a stop to this route. Race still worth attending - a bit of mud and puddles never hurt anyone. Hopefully will run next year if I remember to enter early enough.

A well organised event over a fast, friendly course
Anyone running in the Fens in December should expect to be hampered by a nice cold breeze. The bonus today was that, although a little stronger than usual, the wind was warm.

Overall I thought the event was very friendly and the marshals were mostly positive and supportive. The course was fast with the exception of a hill at 8.5k, which wasn't as bad as I had been led to expect. The finish, and especially the transition onto the field through the mud was not great - but understandable. But I got a PB by some distance and really enjoyed the trot around.

Also got a free beer at the end. Anyone can make friends with me by giving me beer. Will definitely take part next year.
