Kevin Henry Summer 5k League
Overview
The Kevin Henry League is a summer 5k league with one race a month held on Thursday night's from May until Septmber. Ely Runners joined the league in 2013 and compete against 5 other clubs - Saffron Striders, Cambridge & Coleridge AC, Cambridge Tri Club, Haverhill RC and Newmarket Joggers. Only members of the competing clubs are eligible to participate in these events.
Rules
Male Team: positions are added together for the first six finishers in each team, with every male finisher gaining 1 point for the team, which is subtracted from the total.
The team with the lowest aggregate score receives 6 points down to 1 point for the team with the highest aggregate positions total.
Female Team: positions are added together for the first four finishers in each team, with every female finisher gaining 1 point for the team, which is subtracted from the total.
The team with the lowest aggregate score receives 6 points down to 1 point for the team with the highest aggregate positions total.
Combined Team: Male and Female positions are added together to give the Combined score. - In the event of a draw between a Men or Women’s team, points will be awarded equally to both teams, with the next team down receiving their normal position points.
- ie. 2 teams equal first would receive 6pts each, the following team 4pts for 3rd position.
Age Limits: All competitors in the League must be 14 years or over.
Club Colours: All competitors to wear recognisable club colours, this may be in any form, vests, T-shirts or ‘cropped-tops’ as long as it is clear which club the person is representing.
Results: Numbered tickets will be handed out to runners at the finish line, which will correspond to their finish position.
- This number is to be handed to your club representative, who will record your name, gender and position on the score-sheets provided (times are optional but can be helpful to record).
